Welcome Home

The Angel Of The North was erected next to the A1 in February 1998. At that time I lived in Devon and it was not on my route home so I very rarely saw it. The symbol of home for me was always the Tyne Bridge. Since we have moved to Northumberland I have seen it more frequently and it's beginning to grow on me.

It is on the route my daughter takes when she comes home and to her it is the welcome sign that she is nearly home.

Today on route to a day out in Durham with my wife I took my angel to see The Angel for the first time. It is an impressive structure (I should add my angel has less rust).
