Fair Do

It is our village fair this weekend, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. 24C today and the same forecast for tomorrow. This fella was driving his "bagnole" through the streets to advertise his museum of old crocks. Overnight, food and beer tents had sprung up. The streets were lined with stalls. Fields were full of agricultural wares, both live and mechanical. There were the usual barriers blocking traffic from entering the village, but this year there were trucks at either end of the main street, and tractors parked in all the side streets, to prevent any possibility of the vehicular terrorism we have seen so recently around Europe. In the circumstances, a sensible precaution. Just sad that this is what things have come to.
