Well done Team GB

John bought a large bouquet of red, white and blue flowers yesterday so today I was all set up to get a blip regardless of the incessant rain.

It had to be a blip of a bouquet having watched all the olympians being presented with their medals and flowers. I had a bit of fun playing around with a digital imaging programme to add a touch of interest and oomph to the bouquet.Hope you like it.

Delightful to watch the winner of the gold medal at one of the swimming races lift his bouquet to his nose and smell the flowers not once , but several times, what a cheer he got from the crowd for his appreciation of all the effort that goes into making these beautiful bouquets. We listened to a radio interview a few weeks ago and the lady in charge of the firm who made the bouquets explained all the very strict rules laid don by the committee concerning the size, shape , types of flower and even the smell of the flowers. All very exacting.

Certainly all the competitors deserve recognition for their endeavours and sportsmanship. We have watched a lot of the swimming but the sport which I have found truly inspiring is the tennis, it is so difficult for an able bodied player to cover the baseline and get back to position all the time, yet these players have to cope with constantly moving and turning their wheelchairs as well as getting the shots in place. The doubles players perform amazing feats of skill, manoevering round each other and always seem to be in the right place to return the most amazing shots. Quite incredibele ! Couldn't believe it when I heard there were mutterings about the double bounce rule instead of giving credit where it is due.
