The Start

It has been quite a day. Together with three other friends, we've been planning an event for the Club Triumph for a number of months. Called the Historic Counties Rally, it's an event the club puts on annually and as past winners (well all except me, Chris), this year was our go at organising it. Each car was set the challenge of visiting a number of mandatory counties in England, some optional counties and optional points of interest. Photo evidence was required to earn points. They set off at 8pm after a car related quiz we set and a lovely hot meal, obviously we'll talk more about what happened next on tomorrow's blip.

Annie and I drove to the start (near Coventry) in different cars. I set off in our Triumph, although we obviously weren't taking part it felt appropriate. About 10 miles from home, it decided today wasn't the day for an outing and coughed and stopped. Annie went on whilst I awaited recovery. After a couple of hours I was back home to collect another car and just got myself to the start venue to help with the briefing with a handful of minutes to spare. Not the ideal prep when you're supposed to be helping run the event.

Blip of a bundle of Triumphs rowed up at the start. Will they all finish? Which one will win? More tomorrow!!
