Fish Ladder No More

The jumble of concrete sections was until recently officially described as 'state of the art' fish ladder on the river Avon at Millheugh

Design engineering and reputable contractor employed.

Locals who know the river questioned the project robustness. On site engineers claimed construction would withstand a once in a hundred year extreme.

What happened next?

Well after the first spate the concrete sections started to move and the next flood finished the job rendering the £860,000 spend worthless

What is left is an eyesore and a temporary cofferdam is causing greatly increased water noise for
nearby residents
