Marischal by night

This building is Marischal College on Broad Street, Aberdeen. Now the headquarters of Aberdeen City Council, the building was originally constructed for (and is on long-term lease from) the University of Aberdeen.  The University still uses part of the building and holds graduations and other such ceremonies there.  The structure is an icon of the 'Granite City' and symbolises the city's granite industry. Construction began in 1835 and was completed in the early 1900's. It is the second largest granite building in the world.  A statue of Robert the Bruce stands in front of the building.Extra photo taken earlier in the day.
