Thin Blue Line

Sorrowful blue line,
Marking out the final path,
Through boot beaten streets.

Went up to London for the day to take my friend Taurie out for a birthday treat lunch at the Shard.   Little did we know that it would coincide with the funeral of PC Keith Palmer who was killed in the attack on Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament a short time ago. 

The funeral was at Southwark Cathedral which is cheek by jowl with Borough Market and The Shard.  When we got there they were waiting for the cortege to arrive.  The atmosphere was strange, quite calm and warm.  Police lined the route from Westminster to Southwark and under the railway bridges to the cathedral (as shown here).  Police men and women had come from all over the country to honour their comrade.
