American Goldfinch

There are two goldfinches in our area, the Lesser Goldfinch and the American Goldfinch. The American, seen here in its breeding plumage, is a striking bird with its bright yellow and bold black coloring. 

When I arrived at the college today a line of cars waited to be directed to parking. I learned that Representative Greg Walden was holding a town hall. About 500 people were in attendance and the meeting was held in the same location as our Job/Career Fair a couple weeks ago. Here is an article and video of the meeting. After this meeting in The Dalles, he held another town hall in Hood River that 800 people attended!
