Barley Sausages

This was the quite hilarious process of making the barley sausages. Then we slung them in the lake - see extra. 

Apparently barley straw  releases hydrogen peroxide which kills the algae. I also read that the EU was going to ban the use of it until we intervened.  If you are interested, follow this link to read more including the technical details of how the barley straw process works and why no fish are harmed in the process!
