Taunus
This is view taken between Rauenthal & Kiedrich and it really looks like we were in the middle of nowhere. Which we were.
We decided to walk from Haus Himmelreich to Kloster Eberbach as the weather was good and it is meant to rain for the rest of the weekend.
It was a joy to be out.
Our map was not a source of joy. It was close to useless. But we kept going. I was slightly tempted to stop here, but common sense prevailed and we kept going.
After 4 and half hours of wandering we reached Kloster Eberbach, only to find it was overrun with visitors. So we jumped on the bus and then a train and made it back to Wiesbaden in 40 minutes.
Since we hadn't treated ourselves to anything all day, we stopped off in Grunsels Börnchen - a place so traditionally German, it doesn't have a website. It does have very tasty food though.
That revived our spirits and we could forget our sore feet for an hour.
