Natural Abstract

Last night the temperature went down to -5°C and that is the key to today's image. Ice started to form where streams and pools were open.
This morning was very sunny but temperatures were still minus when we went out for a pre breakfast walk. As we walked we took a lot of pictures of the ice and snow flakes on streams and puddles. This patch of ice, about 30 x 20 cms, formed in running water and is full of different crystal structures and bubbles.
You can see it a little more in perspective in the extra. The blip is taken from the centre of that image.
The other extra shows the large boulder we managed to remove from our driveway today, using techniques that would have been familiar to the ancient Egyptians!
Other adventures today include changing from winter to summer tyres as ironic snowflakes drifted down!
You can get a slightly different take on the day, and see some lovely pictures, in HarlingDarling's blip.
