A bit of history

Another outing with the walking group today. This time we did a 'literary' walk - starting from Jane Austen's house in Chawton, Hants. The route took us around several places associated with Jane and her family - including the graveyard where her sister and (I guess) mother are buried. As you can see from the photo - they both lived to a ripe old age - even by today's standards. Jane herself wasn't so lucky and died in her 40s in Winchester.

We returned to Chawton after almost 5 miles for a well deserved cuppa at Cassandra's Cup tearoom.
