Bus

With tomorrow's ride back to Barra and Miss K's diminishing enthusiasm for cycling in mind, we decided to explore N Uist by public transport. This was in the form of minibuses, with us as the only passengers, driven by a guy who was almost keen to talk to people from near his birthplace as he was to tell us about the places we were passing. After lunch in Lochmaddy, his wife drove us back, more personal and social, with stories of the changing times of childbirth on N Uist, the guy who lives alone with his sheep on Boreray, Hercules the bear and the  Giant MacAskill. The only drawback was that photos taken through the minibus window have a greenish tint but, in a way, that captures the day well.

Extra is of the big sky looking over to South Uist from the B&B this morning. We return there tomorrow, hopefully with the forecast following wind.
