In the spotlight

Ah well what a horrible day weather wise, weve been itching to get in the garden, but its been rainy, windy and flippin' cold :-/

hub went in the greenhouse for a while, i spent half an hour with my coat on, deadheading some daffs, and forking the lawn a little, as its still quite sodden.....not overly enjoyable really, but glad of the fresh air.

Ive tried my new slow cooker out today, we should b having nice spring salads by now, but no chance, instead, I made a beef casserole, using a recipe that my sis recommended, very nice it was too!

This morning we popped to Lidl, got a lovely leg of pork, bargain! Tomorrow we are having roast ham.....think daughter is coming to join us :-)

Todays blip is our columnar Cherry Tree, which we planted not long after we moved in. The story goes that the council decided to put a street lamp in our garden border, at the foot of our drive one afternoon whilst we were out....the estate was just being finished with lighting etc. as you can imagine I was less than impressed to find it there, so in an effort to mask it, we planted this tree. It has done its job wonderfully well, and every night lately ive thought how lovely the blossom looks n the darkness, lit by the light.......:-)
