Bird of paradise flower

Back home today after a great week in the lakes , our little cat seams to have missed us and has been well behaved for our cat sitter . Popped over to see my farther this evening and his bird of paradise plant has just flowered , we have one too but no flowers have ever come on it yet :( . Not had much oppertunity for a good pic today its all dull and grey so this flower was a nice bright bit of colour
