How Crickhowell has changed

Lunch in the garden of the Bear hotel today and snapped this chic lady with Spanish waiter, Pedro, in the background.
Today Crickhowell is an ultra trendy place to live , a bolt hole for affluent Londoners, a far cry from the small Welsh market town of my childhood.
There are no empty shops in Crickhowell.
Neither are there any chain stores supermarkets. Recently a Boots opened- and everyone is complaining of the long queues . This never happened when it was a family business .
The shops are all locally owned and offering a personal service from home made chocolates to cakes to fancy kitchen ware all reflecting the interest and high standards demanded by their discerning customers.
I could mo longer sfford to live in my home town .
