A pain in the neck

Today we went off to an RSPB reserve for a final dose of bird watching. We were not having much luck spotting birds, but eventually found some ducks and swans.

The swan in my blip was sitting with another quite close to the path spending ages preening. They were leaving lots of little feathers all over the ground; we should have picked them up to refill our pillows at home. I guess the moult must cause them to itch, maybe it is nice to sit and use their long neck to get into all the corners and have a really good preen.

We have found it really warm down south and will be quite glad to get back to a cooler Scotland but hopefully not too cool.
