The Saviour

Chingu Nongdrenkhomba, King of Manipur, at last, drove away the Awa (Burmese) from Manipur thereby ending the CHAHI TARET KHUNTAKPA (7 Years' Devastation caused by the occupation of Manipur by the Awa Lanmi (Burmese Army) 1819-26.  His statue stands at Canchipur to mark the historical event.
