Wall-violet

The weather turned out brighter than the forecast, so in the morning Pete and I headed to Bourne to record the spring flora of the town. I was glad that I'd worn my winter coat, as though the sun shone intermittently, the temperature was decidedly on the parky side. Our trip was very successful, with many new records added, but this must be one of the most unusual - a common-dog violet growing in a crack in a garden wall!
