Inverewe

As soon as we reached Poolewe we connected Vincent up to the mains and then Nell to the lead. Nell pulled the short straw as she only had a brief walk - we were going to Inverewe Gardens. Unlike the other gardens that we have visited recently, Inverewe does not permit dogs.

I particularly enjoyed visiting the house, which was closed for refurbishment the last time that we were here.

The scone may or may not have been the best to date in my Great Scone Survey but it was by far the most expensive at £2.70 and the asking price for clotted cream was an extra £1.20 (other NTS establishments have charged 80p or 50p)

The garden however remains my favorite. It has a real sense of scale and a character all its own. A marvellous place to wander and I came back to the van with 109 exposures...
