Tired

This day has possibly been one of the hottest this year -it certainly felt like it.
What do you do in such heat? Would you set off for a six mile walk, a walk that involves getting to such heights you could nearly touch the sun...?
I reckon my bad leg is now fully mended as I have no aches in it, well none different to the good leg!

We -Em and I- headed for Millington, parked up and set off down towards Kilnwick, took a left turn and followed the footpath that went all around the tops and then down back to the pastures and way back up to Millington heights then down again back in to the village.
We knew our reward for such a walk was to sit at The Ramblers Rest and enjoy a freshly baked scone and a refreshing cuppa.
WRONG... they are closed this week, holidays!!
Can you believe such bad luck?
We found sustenance across the road at The Gait Inn by way of a cold drink and a packet of crisps with a pickled egg, cheers JB.

Along our route we spied a sunbathing frog, a red kite, a kestrel, several dragon flies and about five different butterflies.

It was good to be able to see all the combines going like the clappers to get the harvest in, hope it won't take too much drying and that it can all be got in before the weather changes again.
All in all a damn good day, I really do enjoy walking and taking in the beauty of where we live.

Map ref is to where we started and finnished our walk, not where my sofa is with too tired, sleeping terriers are.

Have a fab weekend, we've got the Grandkids coming to stay...woohoo!
