Pill bug

This afternoon I found this creature walking towards a rather busy road. I managed to take a photo of it before I made it get onto my public transport pass so I could move it further away from the road to a spot where there was some vegetation for it to crawl under.

The common pill bug, a member of the woodlice family, is apparently not an insect but a terrestrial crustacean, which makes it more closely related to shrimp and crayfish.

I could easily get used to having several consecutive days off but unfortunately it's back to work tomorrow morning.

A big thank you for all the comments, stars and heart on my last two entries.
