Above It All

The crows were dive bombing and buzzing the hawk, who didn't seem to care. He's regally perched on top of an old dead tree, maybe fifty feet tall, that's been in the field for years. What a vantage point! Stretched below are lush weeds, thick bushes and smaller trees--a perfect supermarket!

We finally went to the plumbing store this afternoon because we need to replace the bathroom sink faucets and get a more powerful showerhead. I can't believe how complicated it got--after pricing out a bunch of components, which took a very long time, the salesperson suggested that if we still have galvanized pipe there wouldn't be much point in getting good fixtures since the pipes put so much debris in the water which can ruin the faucets. Definitely get all the pipes replaced first. And we have hard water, which leaves deposits on everything, so maybe we should think of getting a water softener. Which has to have the $100 filter changed twice a year. I'm afraid I'm making it sound like she was out to sell us something, but in fact she was saying NOT to buy the fixtures. I think the next stop is a home supply store where it all comes in one box and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'll just settle for a shower head with a good strong spray--aim it at my neck, right here, nice and hot please...
