Box Hill Tower

I had no idea that there was this tower on the top of Box Hill, even though I have lived nearby for most of my life.. It was quite a long walk along the top of the hill in woods of beech and oak, until we reached a viewpoint which overlooked Juniper Hall Field Centre and then across the Mole Valley. The tower is called Broadwood's Tower and was built to commemorate the victory at Waterloo.
The paths at the top of the hill are very worn and over used at this popular beauty spot. Also, everywhere is very dry with cracks in the soil. I have heard talk of a hose pipe ban already.
