Crofting dirty-work

As well as all the lovely wee lambs and happy stories it's also important to remember that things don't always go right... This sheep, who is about to give birth any hour/day now, had the early signs of a prolapse this morning. Mum and I caught her and did this. The first option is always to try and be as unobtrusive as possible to the sheep, so here we have braided/tied the sheeps own wool to keep everything 'in place' and this ideally will break naturally when she starts giving birth. The alternative would be to suture with medical tape, and this would have to be cut before the lamb can be born...not ideal. Anyway she's looking ok for now, I'll keep you posted in future blips :)
