On the Corner

A new cistern flush valve! Picked up from screwfix. An easy enough job, but it made me feel like a superhero for the rest of the day. Of course no trip to screwfix is complete without a trip to the dump. And from the dump to B&Q .. more plants... and a hose. A thing of loveliness.
Later, to the Cameo to see 'I am not Your Negro' - an excellent film based on an unfinished book by James Baldwin. Pretty intellectual in places, but the footage of Dorothy Coutts, a 14-year-old black girl walking to school in North Carolina, surrounded by a sea of white hatred is something that everyone should see and think upon. No decent person could fail but to be utterly repulsed, and if they're white, ashamed. Yep, I was affected by it.
So, phew, after that, some great chats at the usual philosophical society. Someone should really be minuting it as I could do with a summary of our conclusions.
