Flower Friday - Fibre Optics

We did a delivery of the new greetings cards to State Flora this afternoon, and took the opportunity to wander round for a blip.  Not a lot of insect activity - I did see a bright blue butterfly, but it didn't settle.

The sun was shining on this melaleuca cultivar, "White Anzac" (used to be called callistemon) and the stamens reminded of those little fibre optic lights that were so popular years ago.

The cultivar name is very appropriate seeing that we have Anzac Day coming up next week.
