Return to the North

By Viking

Nearly ducked out on the day!

As mentioned yesterday I had headed across to Leeds to catch up with some friends, staying over with J for a couple of nights. We had talked about doing a decent ramble but party pooper here is sick so wasn't really up for much more than a stroll. So instead of heading overkill and dale we headed to Bolton Abbey instead. It had the advantage of decent paths, not too much of an incline and was never too far from a loo! Did get 0ver 10,000 steps in so wasn't exactly a stroll but wasn't full on either (thanks J by the way)
We walked up through the woodlands, amongst the wild garlic hoping that the bluebells would be out. Some were but they were too distant to get any decent shots of. Then we headed foe the Strid and back along the river. J spotted mandarin ducks which I was well chuffed about and of course had to take LOTS of shots of these beautiful creatures.

After a cuppa we headed back via Middleton woods where the bluebells were most definitely out!  You can check out other shots here
