Catch and Release

Our last full day on holiday and we spent the morning relaxing a little before heading out to one of our favourite local pastimes - crabbing.

About 20 crabs later, they were all safely released back into the sea (probably to be scooped up by another family and on goes the cycle).

Rather amusingly, the excursion happened on the day that one of my favourite episodes of a Cbeebies program was broadcast. If any of you have seen 'Tinga Tinga Tales', you might be aware of the episode 'Why Flamingo Stands On One Leg'. Well according to African folklore, they had to make room in the lake for beautifully harmonising crabs with South African accents to feed.

Of course.

And of course I didn't anthropomorphise our crabs with South African accents. At all.
