A Loonly Beach

This morning we found a loon stranded on the beach.
Loons are very good swimmers and flyers but their legs are not built for walking on land.
The tide was going out so if this guy was hoping for a wave to come and wash him back in that wasn't going to happen.

Just trying to pick up a bird like that and moving it into the water is tricky because you could make things worse.

We ended up getting in touch with state park rangers that luckily came and got the bird but received no further word on how the little guy made out,
