Child Deterrent

In this village they impale children on sticks. 

Well, actually that's not true.  These signs are supposed to remind drivers to slow down because moppets may be playing in the streets.

The impaling idea might actually be one of the stories from the Brothers Grimm.  I must get around to reading some of their fairy stories.
