Mono Monday - STONE -MM170

It brightened up late morning so I was able to put some washing out to dry in the breeze. Early afternoon me and TheAphid headed towards the Dolmen for my Mono Monday blip. As we were walking along one of the lanes we changed our minds as the wind was quite strong and cool and we didn't fancy being out for long without coats.
This is one of the field posts at the entrance to a field along La Rue de la Campagne. It's a road with lots of thin strips of land separated by grass banks and at least one dry stone wall.
"The name on this particular post is an old Jersey name. The family is thought to have originated at Grouchy, on the borders of the Cotentin and Bessin in Lower Normandy. The name is believed to be Viking in origin, perhaps derived from the old Norse personal name Geiro" taken from the the islandwiki site.

I'll be awarded hearts on Wednesday on Thursday and then handing over to SkiMe who's hosting in May.
