Mono Monday: "Stone"

While photographing Cullen Auld Kirk recently for the new guidebook, I had lots of opportunities to wander in the churchyard looking at interesting graves. Details of a few of them will find their way into the book in due course, but when I saw today's Mono Monday theme I knew where I should go to shoot a "stone"!

I reckoned without the weather, which has been a little unseasonable today; I had to time my trip to the churchyard between blizzards! But the stones were wet with melted snow, which brought out some textures nicely. This is a detail from one of the "table" gravestones.
