Wound up in Wexford

Magnolia Susan

A very small plant, still in a pot.  Came as a bargain with another very small magnolia from a catalogue, and this is the first year she has produced any flowers.  There's one large one at the top, and a few buds, which MAY manage to become flowers in the next month or so.  You may notice a few raindrops - we have actually had some rain today - not a lot, but every little helps, they say.

Our yellow magnolia has dropped all its flowers now.

I spent 2 hours this morning attempting to stem the invasion of nettles, goose grass, bracken and brambles from the field next door, and have a few tingly spots on my fingers this evening, as a result, along with a bit of muscular backache.
