The Edge of the Wold

Happy Birthday to the Little Fella

Under the old Blipfoto rules this wouldn't have been allowed, as this photo was taken in December 2009.  I might have got away with it as it has actually been snowing outside on this late April evening.

Today is a special occasion as it is the little Fella's 18th birthday.  Here he is on the right with the bigger fella brother (who is now 20).  He can now legally drink his first pint of beer in the pub in BW.  Don't they grow up so quickly?  He's hardly a little fella any more, both fellas are taller than me.

The two fellas have featured in blips on their visits to Arnside most years.  Here they are almost exactly six years ago in a blip that tells of the adventure we had mountain biking in Grizedale Forest, including a pile-up on the road on the way back when the bigger fella had an argument with a rock, and I managed to fly over the handlebars onto the tarmac.  The little fella was far too clever to get embroiled in that.

My blip yesterday featured the thoughtfulness and responsibility of two small boys in Arnside.  Similarly, the two fellas in BW have always been remarkably considerate and generous lads.  The big fella was more concerned about me than his own injuries after that bicycle pile-up.  While the little fella always wants to buy us tea with his holiday money when he comes to stay. The world is a much better place with them in it.

Happy Birthday, Stephen!
