Worth the wait

At long last Ryanair delivered the very special cargo. Daughter Kate with husband Barry and the two grandchildren Charlotte and Elliot touched down at Memmingen from Dublin and Bavaria beamed in sunshine.

Wonderful to have them here again even if only for a short break.

On the way home stopped off to pick up supplies in Ottobeuren before heading home for a late lunch. Kate knew all about the tradition of decorating the fountains for Easter - she likes to be prepared.

A bit of relaxing before then going to Ottobeuren in the evening for a pizza at Angie's sports club where she was having a class followed by a round of saunas. She didn't join us but quickly popped by keeping her sweaty distance before disappearing to the showers and sauna.

Despite it's hall like surroundings, the pizzeria produces good food in it's wood fired oven and a rather nice relaxed atmosphere particularly for families who don't want to be restricted by "etiquette".

Afterwards we watched the climbers (Extra Photo) on the 15m high vertical wall. I did offer to demonstrate one of the 110 different climbs but sadly the children wanted to go home and get to bed after a long jet lagging day.
