Iris surprise

In gardens all around irises are making their magnificent and fleeting appearance. I don't actually remember planting these bearded irises, in fact, I think they may have been dormant for a year or two. But they've made a spectacular appearance this year - all velvety and deep purple. The rain just added to their beauty on this cool, showery spring day.
