#YSAwards - thanks for inspiring evening

The main blip is of the table decoration at the YoungScot Award ceremony tonight in Glasgow.  The theme - chosen by young people - was of woodland and the hall resonated with forest sounds - and a great deal of human chatter.

This is the 12th year of the event and I was privileged to attend again to hear the inspiring and positive stories of young people who make a difference - for themselves in overcoming challenges  they face but most often for doing more to help others.  How the judges chose between the nominees I do know as each in their own way was a winner.  And they are the tip of a much larger group out there across Scotland working away.

The CEO of YoungScot is Louise a devoted blipper - see extra on the right with SallyAnn Kelly from Aberlour.  Her drive and that of the sponsors have done so much to promote the positive aspect of young people.

In addition to the awards there were two musical contributions. One from an up and coming band - 100 Fables - who i enjoyed very much.  Great beat and excellent lead vocalist.  And, the second extra - Emily Middlemas - who brought the evening to an upbeat close.  Her last set was with the winners of the arts category - sisters Laura and Sarah Ayoub - whom she accompanied in their version of Uptown Funk.

Tomorrow will have to do lots to live up to tonight!
