Scone

Son 2 has chosen cooking as his skill for Silver DofE. Last night he kicked off with a batch of scones. And I'm pleased to report that if he carries on producing results like this either we'll all be spherical by reward time or (and?) I'll be able to delegate kitchen duties on a permanent basis. I'm trying hard not to think about all the extra gardening time this might give me.

Back to MW today for a one off afternoon lesson with Julie to complete the bits on soils we couldn't fit in before the last exams. As usual she deployed her hairdryer-express train teaching style which efficiently conveys a vast amount of very interesting information in as short a time as possible. It's certainly exhilarating but afterwards leaves one feeling in urgent need of a quiet lie down in a darkened room.
