Growing Up

Today is Immy's 18th birthday. She (and Rosie) has been with us this evening. Following a late change of plans, she's out with friends tomorrow instead of the original plan to go out tonight. Fortunately a local restaurant was able to squeeze us in at very late notice for a lovely meal for the four of us.

Excitingly Immy was able to drive us to the restaurant as today was changeover day in the fleet. My (Chris') VW Golf company car went back after four happy years. This has been replaced by a new no frills Citroen C1, the primary reasons being the company car couldn't be driven by Immy (she needed to have held a full licence for a year) and I'm really not doing the mileage to justify the company car. The Golf was collected at 8.30am and I walked to the Citroen garage at 1pm to collect the C1. Great when a plan comes together.

We enjoyed watching Immy unpack her presents. We'd assembled a "hamper" of useful/fun/essential things for entering adult life. With her due to go to University this autumn (after A level results), it was a great idea of Annie's and good opportunity to get her stocked up. We'd reached out to friends for suggestions and had a good response. Fun to assemble it too.
