First stop London, then onto Ottawa

The big trip commences! Bit of a shaky start at 7am, we had to turn back to get my passport! Thankfully the taxi had only got as far as the end of the street.

We had a lot of time to kill in Heathrow so we popped in to Ealing for lunch with The Bear and his lovely wife.

We've been raving to people about Santa Maria for ages, ever since we were there last year. That's where we had lunch today, but it wasn't as incredible as we remembered. Still good, just not quite up to the legend we'd concocted in our heads.

The rest of the day was filled with the flight to Ottawa. Fairly uneventful except for a screaming wean in the seat across the aisle from me. Started off bad but got better thankfully.

Finished off with an evening in the company of the Brevans.

All in all a good start to the trip.
