Masks....

which are apparently used in the annual Kuomboka ceremony which takes place in Western province. It was a couple of weeks ago - I would have loved to have gone but its expensive!  Its a ceremony celebrated by the Lozi people.  Kuomboka means get out of the water and its when the local 'king' moves from his home to get out of the water basically in the rainy season and he moves to higher ground when the Zambezi plains flood!

Its an incredible sight with hundreds of rowers taking him in a large handmade barge - apparently they row for 8 hours!  Maybe next year.

These masks were at the local craft market!
