Great expectations

Ventured over to Southampton Common today and came across this swan sitting on her very grand nest with her partner close by keeping an eye on things. I am guessing this is the pair that I saw here last year as it seems they come to the same place each year. Lovely to see. I also spotted a moorhen pair with their young, although too far away to get a good photo .. it's in the extra.
