More Bonsai, growing well.......

Both of these bonsai are doing well.  The Trident Maple, (Rt) was potted in January and has flushed out, had 1 haircut, and sprouting new leaves again.  You can tell they are new because they have a red hue to the, turning green when they harden off.
The Powder Puff on the Left, was potted 3 weeks ago, had a root trimming, wire was applied to 3 branches, some fertilizer was given and now the plant is blooming, in full color.  Both bonsai will have the chance to grow and get strong through the summer, getting an occasional haircut and routine fertilizer.

Yesterday 4 of my bonsai were attacked by squirrels....  i.e., the squirrel(s) were digging in the soil of the pots.  One plant was dug up and thrown on the ground.  Two more were severely dug into, and the 4th was dug down to the bottom of the pot.   All of them had a lot of roots exposed to the hot air for far too long.  I will know in a few days whether any will die.  I have my fingers crossed.
Today, I put screening to keep the squirrels away.  I also put out moth balls as they are supposed to repel squirrels.  Unfortunately, moth balls make dogs very sick, so I have had to seal everything up so the squirrels don't get in, the dogs don't get in (though they have never bothered the plants) and the moth balls don't get out (or the squirrels don't throw them out!   What a mess!!!   What a pickle!!!!
