Scallop Sculpture

We first came across this piece of environmental sculpture on a canoe trip last year. It is the most amazing thing. Thousands of scallop shells individually placed to form flower shapes over a large area but, only visible during a low tide.

Who created it? Who knows? It has all the hallmarks of an Andy Goldsworthy, lonely location, local materials decaying back into the landscape which an only be found by accident.

It would be wonderful to think that it was an early piece by him but who ever did it has created some real earth magick.
