Snowshill & Hidcote

Isobel and I went to Snowshill Manor this morning, the previous home of the everso slightly wacky Charles Wade, an eccentric and eclectic collector if ever there was one!

He crammed the mansion house with so much stuff he had to live in the priests's house next door, which he also crammed with stuff.

Why live in a mansion house when you can cram the lounge with 12 full-sized samurai warriors??  Not to mention the 20 spinning wheels on the second floor and the Room of Hundred Wheels in the attic, see extra 1.

We then went to Hidcote House and Gardens, one of the most beautiful gardens, despite it trying to rain, see extra 2.  Although this only does justice to a very small part of the 10 acre site.

Deffo worth a re-visit.
