On our way home

After a really good breakfast in the garden room of the hotel we were on our way by 8.30am. We said goodbye to Campbeltown with one last look at the boats and the pretty blossom trees that lined the roads and headed down the road to Tarbet. We had a quick look round, no 20p for the Loos so carried on our journey down the windy road through Ardrishaig. After going over the Swing bridge I noticed the old steam puffer VIC32 moored by the carpark. We were hoping she was going to sail through but the Lochkeeper said she was nt due to go through till the end of the week. There were three yachts waiting to go through though so once they were all in position the loch gates were closed and the water started to raise, it took ages and even then they did nt move off so we decided to go.I did look out to see if I could see any other blippers around, none spotted;) Free loos in the carpark though :)
A very long journey home with a number of stops, a Bike event at Inveraray' hundreds of bikes some of which were whizzing down the roads we were on.A stop for a take away tea at a viewpoint down a Loch, a walk at Loch Tay, photos taken of the Falls at Dochart,a large stone chip on the Land Rovers windscreen which made us both jump, pie and chips at Blair Atholl and then to end the day chasing Steam Trains up the A9. We spotted lots of anoraks with cameras on the bridges by the railway tracks in several places so thought something special must be happening so pulled off down a side road where luckily there was a bridge and a parking space and no people so we waited for about 5 minutes and then saw the smoke getting closer, more people joined us and two excited children, so it was great fun to see the driver waving and tooting as it went underneath us. We saw it again at the Inverness Uni and then at the station, Mike had tickets to collect so it all worked out nicely.
Home at last :))))
