Waspish

We went out birding today but I thought the most colourful shot was this scolid wasp clambering over the thistle head. His wings were almost like neon lights as they caught the sun - a first for me!

It's found where wild artichokes grow and is a  parasite on the rhino beetle which explains why there are few rhinos on Malta - beetles that is ;) 

The Black-eared Wheatear is also a tick in the box. Don't see many of those in England!
