Hall Light, All Change!

Marlane has never liked the old 'Flying Saucer' light in the hallway, it's been there for years and now she's on a DDIY (David, Do It Yourself) kick it was time for it to be changed.
A lot of deliberation about which one to choose but in the end it was the white and clear leaves from 'The Range'.
I really don't like electrics and we find in this house that the wires have been left quite short by the builders when the house was erected. This makes it quite a difficult job as you can't pull any extra wire out of the ceiling without ripping the plasterboard away (no, I don't really want to do that of course!).
Anyway, after a lot of struggling, screwing and unscrewing because the wires kept popping out of the connectors, I was at a stage to test it, before screwing it to the ceiling.
It worked - but the kitchen, sitting room and dining room lights didn't!

Out with the camera, with which I had taken a photograph of the old wiring, and I noticed that the negative (Blue & Black) and the ring wiring (Black & Black) are linked together so I got a suitable piece of wire to link them and all was ok with the world again.

End result you can see in the before and after photos.
