Wanderings & Witterings

Slow

The route of today's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers took us from Castlecary, north across the Antonine Wall and then down the Wyndford Road (pictured) to Wyndford Lock on the Forth & Clyde Canal.

We then took the Doup's Burn path through Banknock before rejoining the Canal. A short extension to the walk led us eastwards along the Canal towpath to Underwood Lock and back, before we returned to Castlecary.

A very pleasant 8km, although the sun's efforts at breaking through didn't come to much. As this was the first walk of the new Tuesday programme, it was followed by a very pleasant lunch for many of the walkers in the Castlecary Hotel. Perhaps the best part of the day!
